If you are passionate about your local community, we need you. Councillors make a huge difference to the quality of life of local people and how local issues are dealt with. We need people from all backgrounds and experiences who reflect the communities they serve to put themselves forward for election.

Anyone satisfying eligibility criteria is encouraged to apply to serve as a Parish Councillor.  A maximum of seven Councillors can be appointed to Figheldean Parish Council.  Should anyone want to learn more about being a Parish Councillor in Figheldean, please do feel free to get in touch with the Parish Clerk via the following email address: parishclerk@figheldean.org 

Key Election Dates:

  • Nominations open: 10am Wednesday 12 March 2025 (nominations can be delivered between 10am and 4pm on working days)
  • Nominations close: 4pm Wednesday 2 April 2025
  • Deadline for withdrawal of candidate: 4pm Wednesday 2 April 2025
  • Deadline to register to vote: Friday 11 April 2025
  • Deadline to cancel or amend existing postal or proxy arrangements: 5pm Monday 14 April 2025
  • Deadline to apply for a new postal vote: 5pm Monday 14 April 2025
  • Deadline to apply for a new proxy vote: 5pm Wednesday 23 April 2025
  • Deadline to apply for a Voter Authority Certificate: 5pm Wednesday 23 April 2025
  • Polling Day: 7am–10pm Thursday 1 May 2025
